Almost At The End
Hello again! My name is Amya. You can call me Red. I am a relatively novice artist. I’ve been attending Salem High School's Visual Art Academy for around three years now. I’ve dabbled in different media and mediums and played with a variety of concepts in my time here. I strive to spark a little conversation, find other individuals with similar struggles and thoughts as myself, and let the rest of the world know that people like me are in it, and this is my fourth project Blog post for the 2023-2024 school year.
When I started this series for my Junior Portfolio course I had a plethora of themes to choose from and deciding to settle with my original option of.... . This felt like a stepping stone to learning to be honest with myself AND be more vulnerable. Then as the third and final addition to the series I wanted to express the last idea of "filling your own cup".
"Filling my own cup" in my definition is being not only self sustaining but replenish myself emotionally and give myself the same services i would someone else, the same validation, the same positive support, and love. In other words, doing for myself what i wish someone else would do for me. I discussed in my last blog post spending the time to learn to be for and provide for myself what i've wanted from others. I mentioned it's effects on my relationships, interactions, and perspective.
So as an extension to that point, for this project I'll be doing a digital painting taking inspiration from artist like Alexis Franklin and Ayogu Kingsley. The Sketches posted above are the project plan for this piece including more inspiring artwork for this project, more on my concept and design. Below is my current stand point with this project displaying the progress I’ve made so far/ my rough layout.

I can not wait to share my final piece but for now, take care.
