Back Again!

Hello! It has been a bit since my last post but I am back and I bare good news!

If you are new here, Hi! My Name is Amya Redmond, some call me red, and I am in my senior year of high school in a visual art academy and this is y current senior project progress!

Since my last post, I have made quite a few changes. I have found a much easier method to my madness, aka this project, and decided to ditch the alginate and start using duct tape and wire mesh to make my casts. This method has gifted me so much more progress than the materials I had been using prior. I now have a complete set of arms and legs (minus the feet) and a torso in progress. I did run out of tape when casting my torso and tried just using plaster bandages to cast my torso myself so that I would not end that day without making some sort of progress. I was not completely unsuccessful. Without a stable layer of wire or tape under the bandages there was nothing to help it keep its shape as it dried and it was harder reattaching the area I cut t remove the cast from my torso.

My next steps from here are re doing my torso, starting a body silk mold of my head and shoulders, then assembling the body. All of this should all be accomplished by next Monday.

It has been a struggle balancing work, other classes, and this project. Finding time to work is not easy. However, I am doing my best to prioritize and manage my time properly.

Thank you so much for checking in and I hope to see you in the next post!
